RIOT IN UNIUYO LEAVE STUDENTS DEAD!!

From the earlier rumours from uniuyo it has been confirmed that a riot is going on and students have been reported dead due to gunfire by the police force, the cause of the riot is said to be the Engineering students of the University of Uyo who this afternoon went for a peaceful demonstration to the office of the school's Vice Chancellor, Prof Comfort Ekpo, after the VC mandated students to pay N100 for the school bus which used to be free. The school management had shifted most of the Science student courses to the school's permanent site which is about 20 minutes drive from the main campus, and then made the shuttle N100. That means students will have to pay N200 to and fro everyday to the permanent campus for most of their lectures.

This was what the students were protesting this afternoon when things went crazy. The peaceful protest turned violent after security officials at the V.C's office tried to stop the students from gaining access to the Vice Chancellor.

The students allegedly retaliated by throwing stones at the security officials, who then called for police back-up which led to the riot. The police arrived the scene and aggravated the situation by firing shots at the students, killing at least one student. Some say two. Some say three.

Angry students now proceeded to burn down the VC's office, the exams and records building, and a security office. Students have been evacuated from the hostel, and the school has been shut down indefinitely.

WHY WE THINK STUDENTS FAIL:PART 1

I do not thinks that it's a new thing for students to fail but the reason behind the failure is all we are all concerned about, while we all are still trying to figure that out i think we should all try and consider this analysis:
It is no fault of the student because a year has only 365 days.
Days in a year = 365 days
Sundays = 52 days (Sundays are meant for rest)
Days left = 313 days
Summer Vacations = 60 days (Weather is very hot, so it is difficult to study)
Days left = 253 days
Eight hours of daily sleep = 122 days (Necessary)
Days left = 131 days
One hour daily for play = 15 days (It’s good for health)
Days left = 116 days
Two hours for daily food = 30 days (Chew thefood properly, don’t care for time)
Days left = 86 days
Examination days in a year = 30 days (Giving exams is necessary)
Days left = 56 days
Winter vacations = 25 days (Weather is cold, it’s difficult to study)
Days left = 31 days
Other holidays = 20 days (These holidays are to enjoy)
Days left = 11 days
Illness at least once a year = 8 days (Because of illness, study is difficult)
Days left = 3 days
Result days = 3 days (Going and taking result is necessary)
Days left = 0 days
So tell me when is there time to study ?

RIOT IN THE UNIVERSITY OF UYO (UNIUYO)

It has just been confirmed that a riot is currently going on in the University of Uyo,Akwa-Ibom,the riot was reported to have started this evening around 6 pm,the cause of the riot is still not known clearly but eye witness from the school said the riot started due to the shifting of some of their main courses to a permanent site by the school senate, which means the students will have to go through more stress and even have to pay more for transportation everyday...the riot seems to be serious as reports of  some students along with policemen being shot are already coming in,the Vc's office is also said to have been burnt down and some other school properties vandalized by the students, more reports will be brought in as the more news unfolds.

DRAMA CONTINUES AS PROTEST GOES ON IN UNILAG!!!

Shortly after the protests in the morning,a brief  meeting was held between the residents of  Mariere Hall and the Hall manager concerning the price of goods in the hall and the hike in some of  the prices, the result of the meeting is yet to be unknown but one thing that is for sure is that the protest is not going to stop as the students have taken this opportunity to go round the campus and other halls of residence to also lay out their complaints and stop the hike in some goods..some shops, kiosks and even some of the supermarkets have been closed down by the students and the women can all do  nothing but  to  plead with the students to try and reason with them..the shop owners also had some complains to lay down as they said the school authority are the ones to be blamed for the unnecessary hike in price as there has also been hikes in the bills they pay to the school authority in the past years...we are still waiting to find out what the outcome of the meeting and the protests will be but we all are hoping that our voices will be heard and the matter resolved on time.

CHAOS IN UNILAG AS MARIERE HALL RESIDENTS PROTEST!!!

It was another peaceful and bright Sunday morning when a resident of Mariere hall, one of the halls of residence located  in the school campus ,who reportedly went to the famous Yem-Yem supermarket early this morning, only to find  out that the price of their goods and commodities were more cheaper and more affordable than the mini-mart located in his hall of residence..on discovering this, the student (Name Undisclosed)who is currently a 200 level student of the faculty of  Law, went to the hostel to let his room-mates and other residents of the hall know..on hearing this ,the students all marched to the mini mart to lay out their complaints..the matter later died out when the hall master and the hall securities came to intervene.Things seem to have settled down now but i doubt if the students would really let this go anytime soon as the mini-mart still remains closed.
